Meet the Author: Dylan Quinn

Author Dylan QuinnSince sneak reading her first big girl romance at the age of eleven, Dylan’s been addicted to Happily Ever Afters. Playing pretend with adorable book boyfriends and their strong leading ladies often keeps her sleep deprived, though she seldom complains about dreaming in dialogue.
With juxtaposed interests, Dylan writes it all ~ Character-driven romance in YA, NA and adult, from sticky sweet to taboo heat. From Urban and Contemporary Fantasy to PNR, and Contemporary to Romantic Suspense. Nothing’s off limits.
When she’s not writing guilty pleasures, Dylan plays stage mom to her daydreamer offspring and her furbaby kitty Loki. This music fangirl goes nowhere without her beats and playlists. She has an affinity for Moscato and chocolate-covered strawberries. Dreams of singing on the Voice with Adam and Christina, and fantasizes about getting trapped in Mystic Falls with Damon Salvatore.

Sneak a Peak into Cade Adams world... from Gemini
While I held her, every nerve woke from its slumber. My heartbeat increased, a hum of electricity coursed through me. Just being near her was intoxicating.
I wanted so much to kiss her lips, but I wouldn't. Not until she wanted me to. Until her body spoke to me.
"So what can you tell me?" Zoe asked. "What's the plan?"
"The plan is you get to know me. The way all relationships develop." I released her just enough to see her eyes. "We spend time together, and your heart will answer the rest. And when you so choose, I am yours—heart and soul."
Although in time, she would understand that I already was.
"What's the catch? Other than giving up my life here and going to Aravot? I need all the information if I'm going to make a decision this big."
"There is a reason you cannot be privy to all the secrets of this life. This must be a decision made by your soul. No logic can go into choosing love."
Her eyes narrowed, irritation returned.
"Well in case you've missed the past millennium, people today don't just fall in love overnight. Life's not a Disney movie." She pulled away.
I let her go, and pushed my hands into my pockets.
She was right. Unions in modern times were complicated. There were many variables humans considered in choosing a mate and Zoe, although the same soul, had different experiences during each lifetime. I could not force her to love me or to choose our life together, as much as I wished that I could.
Each of her lives was a lesson for me as well—in relinquishing control. All I could do was trust in her heart and our love. Trust her soul would remember me.
"I realize all things in life are a choice. I would never force you to love me. And I would never choose my happiness over yours, but yes. I am hoping your heart will choose me."
Her shoulders relaxed, eyes softened, but never left mine. Her breathing slowed, and her lips parted slightly, just enough to send my heart racing.
My Gemini mark began to pulse. To burn.
I wanted to kiss her. She wanted to kiss me.
After thousands of years loving Zoe, I could read her body as if it were my own.
The flush of her cheeks. Her forehead glistening with perspiration. The way she leaned, shuffled her feet, inhaled short breaths. Her gaze drifting between my mouth and my eyes. The tilt of her head. Her parted lips parting, skimming them with her teeth.
Searching her body for what Raz called her ‘tells,’ I first glanced at her eyes. They were always so telling. They skipped about my face.
Her breaths became shallow, lips parted. A pink flush spread across her high cheekbones as she leaned toward me, shifting nervously between her feet.
Should I kiss her? Part of me was unsure, but my body betrayed my wits.
I had waited twenty-one years for this moment. I could wait no longer.
I stepped closer, inhaled her sweet scent. Lessened the space between us.
Her eyes grew wider, lips parted. Waiting.
I could nearly hear her heart pulsing erratically.
She gave her answer.
"My greatest desire is for you to find happiness."
I stepped closer. Picked up a long strand of her dark locks, and tucked it behind her ear. Ran my fingers along her jaw. Gently grasped her chin, stroked her bottom lip with my thumb, then shifted toward her.
"You have no memory of our life before this. But I’ve seen us together.” I wrapped my arms around her waist. Pulled her closer, our lips just fractions apart. Our gaze frozen.
"And I will always. Choose us."
I leaned in, her soft breath blew against my cheek. I pressed my lips to hers. Gentle. Soft. Trembling.
The tingling sensation I had missed so much returned, ran rampant through my body.
I pulled back, not more than a centimeter, to gauge her response.
Her eyes remained closed, lips parted. Waiting for my return.
I brushed my lips to hers, gentle then deeper. They parted further still, and I edged my way in, exploring her sweet mouth.
My body shuddered, a searing heat rushed through me—through my chest, my arms and tingling within my muscles.
Every fiber of my soul, now burned for her. Alive from her touch.
Zoe fell into my embrace, let go of all the tension she'd been holding. She wrapped her arms around my neck, pressed her chest against mine, and tangled her fingers through the hair behind my neck. Moved them down my cheeks, then to my shoulders and waist.
The exploration of her soft fingertips brought my body to life. My soul. Everything woke inside of me.
She pressed her kiss deeper into mine, soft at first, then fervently, as if this was our last.
Her walls were breaking down—the pain replaced with a longing for our love.
She would soon remember everything, and I would have my Chayah back. Our souls converged as one.
Zoe broke our kiss. Pulled back and gasped for a breath, eyes still closed. Slowly, she opened them. Her body still trembling.
Minutes passed. She relaxed, hands still holding my waist. Her gaze drifted up, peered at me through ebony lashes.
Tears slid from her glistening green eyes. "It's you."
I placed my hands on her warm cheeks, held her gently. Gazed into her eyes, breezed my whisper of admission across her cheek.
“It's me.”

Excerpt

Seth was refreshing and vastly different from the people attending her father’s little cocktail party. These people hid behind well-constructed facades. The football players kept close to each other, as if there was strength in numbers. The men in suits, outwardly bored yet underneath excited as any kid, wanting to get a few words with their favorite player. And the wives of her father’s rich clients, eyeing the buffet of testosterone and fantasizing about secret autograph sessions in a motel somewhere.

She sighed and closed her eyes at the superficiality of it all. When had she become so cynical? She snorted softly. Maybe some of her father had rubbed off on her after all. After years of being an unwilling spectator at his events, she hadn’t managed to escape unscathed.

“I’m guessing from that sigh these parties aren’t your kind of thing.” Seth pointed his glass of beer at the crowd.

Damn, she needed to hide her thoughts better.

“That obvious, huh?” Oh, heck, did he think she found him boring? “It’s me. It’s not you, definitely not … um, I mean, you’re fabulous.” She snapped her mouth shut. Awesome, Harper.

His gaze gleamed with silent laughter.

She sucked in a breath and battled on. “You’re right. These corporate gigs aren’t for me.”

“What is?” Seth sipped his beer.

She thought for a second. “Street markets, hanging with friends over a home-cooked meal, seeing a classic movie at the Grand Illusion Cinema in the University district. The interior is original with red brocade chairs and fancy metalwork. Just divine.” Okay, now she was on a roll. “Oh, and I have to have Milk Duds. Two boxes if I’m with someone, because I don’t share.” If he didn’t understand the importance of candy while watching a movie then she’d leave right now. Some things were sacred.

“I get you on the Milk Duds. I have the same with Allens Jaffas lollies.” At her head tilt, he answered, “Aussie candy I order online and have mailed over. I guard that stuff like it’s the crown jewels. My brother Heath tries to steal handfuls when we watch the rugby. Bastard can get his own.”

Ah, they had a meeting of minds.

“I feel your frustration,” Harper nodded, her tone solemn.

Seth studied her for a moment then, after a quick glance around the garden, asked, “Can I tempt you to leave. Buy you dinner?”

“You tempt me a great many ways, Seth.”

She slapped a hand over her mouth.

The big Aussie’s lips kicked up at one corner, and his low chuckle sounded as if Hades himself was amused.

Under the influence of whatever evil genie now controlled her mouth, she’d just have to ride it out.

His invitation was tempting. Why hang around when her father had clearly dismissed her earlier? After all standing before her was a man who intrigued her and had just asked her out to dinner.

Not exactly a hard choice.

“Just what did you have in mind?” Her voice was calm, unlike the flutter in her tummy.

“Dinner, conversation and a chance to impress you with my suave moves and epic sense of humor.”

Hmm, he was laughing at himself, which was damn sexy, but there was a self-assuredness in the way he stood tall and proud that made her pulse skip. That alone should make her wary. She’d met plenty of cool dudes who turned out to be jerks with all the right words.

Still, Seth seemed so…upfront. And that dry humor was an instant hook for her.

“Confident, aren’t you?”

All teasing fled his eyes. He stepped closer, so close she could smell a hint of aftershave—a rich woody fragrance undercut with warm spices.

His gaze locked with hers as he ran a finger down the side of her cheek, leaving her skin tingling in its wake.

She held her breath and waited.

“I’m a man who knows what he wants. Right now, I want to take you to dinner and find out if you’re as intriguing as the idea of getting to know you promises.” He traced the blunt tip of his finger over the edge of her bottom lip. His touch wasn’t light but…firm, commanding, as if he was giving her a chance to feel him before he took possession. “My guess is I’ll be left wanting more.”

Her breath rushed out in a soft whoosh. Tall, daring and dangerous. That was Seth. Damned if it didn’t make her crave him all the more.

Excerpt

“I’m not overreacting! You can’t just pass me around to all your biker buddies and think it’s okay! I’m not a fucking wrist watch you can just throw into the pot!”

Kayla, do you honestly think I would’ve put you up if I knew I couldn’t win? That I would let anyone else touch what belongs to us?” Reese crowds me into a corner.

“Us?” I squeak. Wait, what?

“Yes. Us. Mine and Dev’s.” He enunciates the words. “You. Are. Ours.”

There’s that word again. Ours.

“I don’t understand.”

“Baby, I think you do. I think you’ve always known where we would end up.” Reese cages me in with his arms.

Dev materializes over Reese’s shoulder, and I internally hyperventilate. I don’t know who to look at first as my gaze compulsively darts between the two of them. Two, beautiful, roughneck men, who both look like they want to have me for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

“How . . . how would this even work?” I crazily entertain the idea.

Both their faces split with a fiendish smile. I must have asked the million-dollar question.

Reese leans in closely, stopping my heart. “Let us show you,” he murmurs so seductively my knees nearly buckle. I throw a questioning eye at Dev and he nods confidently.

“You both want this?” I ask with a small voice.

“It isn’t about what we want anymore. It’s all about you now,” Dev voices.

Holy. Fuck.

“Say yes, Kayla.” Dev’s tone is soft and velvety. Irresistible. “Say yes to us.”

I press my back against the wall praying for composure, but the longer they trap me, the more the pressure builds, the more my want fights to the surface, and my resolve falls away into oblivion. I find myself nodding because my ability to speak has become paralyzed.

“Good girl,” Reese breathes before he throws me over his shoulder like a caveman.

“Hey!” I grab onto his shirt.

He swats me on the butt as he makes his way to the stairs. “Ouch!” I flail.

“That’s for bouncing out on me. Never do it again. Got it?” He hits me once more for good measure.

“Fuck you.” I flinch.

“In due time, baby.”

I lift my head as Reese climbs the stairs with Dev hot on his heels.

Reality suddenly strikes. Is this really happening?

“Relax.” Dev traps my chin gently. “We’re going to take care of you. And make you feel so good.” He pushes some dangling hair away from my face so I can see him. He’s incredibly calm despite the carnal look in his eyes.

Once in my small room, Reese drops me on the bed. They each flank one side, making me feel like a trapped animal.

I kneel in the middle of the mattress at a loss at what to do next.

“Strip, baby,” Reese instructs as he unzips his leather jacket and pulls the gun from the back of his pants, placing it on my nightstand.

I stay frozen in place.

I know I’m supposed to move, but what’s clearly about to happen hasn’t sunk in yet.

“Need some assistance?” Dev crawls up behind me and kisses my neck. A switch flips. My eyes immediately roll backward. Yes, please, touch me. Both of you, please touch me.

"Tommy took a deep breath as his eyes traveled from the woman’s hair, down her shoulders, and then to her hips and legs. She was wearing a dress under her white blazer.
