She took it.

Review by Emma Mistress of all Dark & Twisted

Entice is book 1 in the Affair series and is a highly addictive and emotional read by S Layne.

When Laurie Baker attends a medical conference on behalf of her ParaMed Cells CEO boss she utilises the opportunity to contemplate her future after discovering 3 months previously her husband James had betrayed her with his assistant whose also her best friend Becky. It's decision time for Laurie: stay and forgive James and be the dutiful wife she's been brought up to be or divorce him and see what the uncertain future has to offer.

Laurie literally bumps into the charming, sexy and commanding Liam Parker upon arrival at the conference and he sparks something inside her she hasn't felt in long time: desire, passion and need... Liam offers a proposition to Laurie that she's enticed to accept "a night of pleasure.... I promise pleasure and freedom, but it always ends." She accepts feeling hurt, angry and wanting to escape the pain her husband's actions have caused so the old 'an eye for an eye' mentality inspires her to agree but she does not realise that her world is about to be forever changed in more ways than she could ever envisage.

S Layne does not simplify the acts of betrayal by married people in this book, she shows it's messy, painful and feelings don't just switch off over night. She shows how people make mistakes, bad decisions and have to live with the consequences of these actions: Liam, James and Laurie each make many questionable choices throughout this book, but it makes them more real.

As the book is told from Laurie's POV you can feel her conflict between betrayal and hurt at James and then her own actions that make her feel guilty. She's torn between her past life with James and yearning for something different, new and enticing with Liam a position we've all been in, but which is right for her? Each of the men in her life are never 100% honest with her; it's only when faced with the truth at the end of the book that Laurie now has to decide where her heart truly lies and who she can trust with it.... Yes it ends with a slight cliffhanger but book 2 Embrace is out in May!!

I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review
Loved this book!
Laurie is married to her best friend or so she thought. He betrays her and leaves her heartbroken. She goes away to a conference and meets sexy hot Liam. All he wants is one night of passion. Just one. They agree and holy hotness. The sex with them is amazing. So of course it turns into more and I couldn't wait to get to that. She couldn't get Liam out of her head. Can she move on and not listen to her heart or does she give in and go with what she really wants? Loved this book. I highly recommend

I really did enjoy reading this book. We follow Laurie after she has just found out about her husband and her best friend's affair. This betrayal has hit her hard and she goes on a week conference away with work to soul search.

At this conference there is a chance meeting and a promise of a one night affair.

I found this to be well written and the book had you engaged right from the start. I will be waiting for the next book for see what happens next
