This routine is
killing me.
Day in and day out,
it’s; the same thing: go to work, bed a whore, get a criminal off on a
technicality— pretty standard for one of Chicago’s most established criminal
defense attorneys. Yet I’m almost positive that if I don’t find something to
get me out of this rut I’ll go as crazy as the murders I defend.
And when Violet
Donovan walks in, the smart-mouthed intern who is anything but routine, I’m sure
those pouty lips and fuck-me eyes are just what I need to get my cock and love
for the law twitching again.
Too bad she also
happens to be the daughter of the man who once tried to mentor me.

Cliffhanger ending that had me screaming for more! How did we end there...wow! This is a gripping short read that is written from both Sebastian's pov and Violet's. I love reading the same scene from each view point as we learn how each character see's the world, their perspective and how they misinterpret one another. The plot is fast paced and Violet is a very tongue cheek, sassy lady. I lived her character and her past that has shaped her into a wonderfully strong lady. I think her dad would be super proud of her. She is an up and coming lawyer who has landed an internship with an old family 'friend'...her dad mentored her mentor.
At first it is a cat and mouse game between them but the lust felt is clear to see. The sexual tension simmers throughout. This is their story of their pasts colliding with the present and the fallout that the bang causes! A saucy five star short read, a marvellous introduction to the series and author.
