Punk (The StrangeHer Love Series #1)

“No one is ever who you expect them to be. Scratch at the surface and prepare yourself for what you’ll see.”

What do you do when you're an awkward indie and corporate is the most attractive man you've ever met?

Charis is a nonconformist with an eclectic group of friends and a dysfunctional family. As a former child-prodigy, she's wise beyond her years and jaded before her time. Increasingly, she's beginning to question the constant need to sacrifice her beliefs to keep her family and friends afloat.

Enter, Wiley Kenzie. He says all the right things and looks the part of the perfect man for Charis. There's just more than one problem...

Porter Hanson is the typical bad boy, but not the kind that Charis would usually go for. When a celebration ends in near tragedy, Porter and Charis become victims of fate. While drawn together in unexpected ways, their dark pasts haunt them in ways neither anticipated.

Wow where do I start with this book.
Courtney you are awesome, this was a fantastic read.

The sex scenes in this book are steaming hot and what else do you need but a bitch and a sexy man. You are pulled in to this story and you feel for the characters.

It is brilliantly written and the characters and plot fantastically thought out.

Cannot wait to read book 2

This book was one that drew me in straight away. Courtney Lane's style of writing is one that I relate to and connect with immediately, her messages are subtle but deep and ones that resonate throughout this trilogy. The business woman Charis Reeglan is made a very tempting offer for her company to help it make it known world wide, but does this offer come with ties? Is the real reason for this offer of a more personal nature? Does corporate wear a mask? Can you believe someone who seems so genuine or can you trust someone who seems so broken they couldn't possibly be honest and lead you down the path of destruction?
This first part introduces Charis to Porter Hanson, who is both the complete opposite of Charis as well as strangely perfect, but both are two people wary of the world and what it has to offer due to things they'd rather not share with anyone. Unfortunately, these past events have moulded the way they act, live and perceive the world around them...will they open up to someone new or is their misplaced trust truly warranted?

Shock (The StrangeHer Love Series #2)

”Most won’t believe what they see; their perception is reality”

After suffering a debilitating heartbreak, Charis falls back into her old ways of coping to get through. Wiley, sensing Charis’s mental torment, uses it to his advantage to pursue desires that fall mildly beyond the professional.

A surprising reconnection reignites feelings she thought she’d suppressed. When the unforgivable happens, Charis finds herself turning to the person she’d hurt the most.

With shocking revelations, reappearances, relationship changes, and the occurrence of a life-altering tragedy, the stakes have never been higher...and her love life has never been so turbulent.

This is the second book in this series and there are alot more changes, twists and turns in this read.
We broach the subjects of racism and judgements in this book and I feel like Courtney has done well in this subjects.

I found this to be another good read and well written, you feel like your part of the characters live and so far it's a series I recommend reading.

This is the third and final book in this trilogy.

This book was fantastic and a brilliant read. I feel like Courtney is relay messages and advice in the books that she writes. In this one, it's about forgiveness and learning from your mistakes.

I think it says it for us all, all we want is someone to love and someone to love us, a family, security.

Will there be a HEA in this book, well you will just have to read it.

The third and final part of the trilogy takes Charis on a journey of forgiveness, acceptance and the allowing of the past to stay right there: in the past. Porter is pivotal to this realisation, which is the same one Charis helped him to realise in the previous two books. The roles have now reversed, but will Charis listen to him now when she needs him the most?

The full impact and motivations behind all of the deceits, lies and manipulations come to light and people's true colours, natures and intentions are laid bare. Some are truly quite surprising and really make you view these individuals very differently. But some truly tragic events bring about these confessions and can these events and truths push some people to breaking point?

At the heart of this tale is a message about happiness, power and control. The only person who can allow you to be happy or not is you. Otherwise your handing the power to control your life over to others, who may not wield that power wisely. Charis has got to learn this lesson quickly, as those with the power are circling ready to strike.

All Charis wanted was a family, to be loved, happiness and a feeling of fulfilment in her career without kissing her principles goodbye. She fears the cost of such happiness and is blind to what she already has.... Is Charis going to get her HEA? The road to discover that is a darkly intense, passion fuelled journey full of deceit, manipulation and brutal confessions with an ending that leaves you with tears in your eyes.

 AUTHOR BIO

Ive been creating my own little world since I was very young. When I was eight years old, I began to bring those worlds to life with pen and paper.

Although Ive had a few short hiatuses, writing has been of passion of mine for many years. I've always viewed my writing as a hobby or a purgative process; I never thought to share my very personal works with anyone outside of my family. Now, Im taking the plunge and self-publishing my works. Im very excited and apprehensive about the opportunity to share my work with people who may enjoy it.

While I write across genres (I find it hard to stick to one genre), I do have an archetype when it comes to the female protagonist they have to have certain brand of strength and layered personalities. There will often be a lot of darkness and depth to my stories, because I'm intrigued by characters who are thrust into "dark" situations that explore their psyche.

I prefer gritty love stories, where the protagonist isn't necessarily the girl next door, or the girl you encounter in everyday life. In other words, I don't tend to write characters who are easy to fall in love with.

The elements that will be common in my stories are: depth, controversy, thought-provoking and complex plots, and misfit characters.
